Hand Laid Eggs Surf Coaching is a collective of highly experienced, independent surf coaches based in Newquay, Cornwall.
We offer individual, couples and private group surf lessons that are tailored to your needs, whatever your level from beginner surfer to out the back intermediate.

All our surf instructors have a minimum two seasons experience surf coaching and are qualified, empathetic and knowledgeable.
Lessons Built Around Your Ability
Without the constraints of a fixed base, we set lesson times and meeting points that best match your surfing ability, from first timers to advanced surfers.
A True Local Surf Experience
No need for long walks from surf schools in Newquay, we meet near the beach as local surfers do, changing quickly outside to maximise your lesson time and give the true Cornish surfing experience.
Our Lessons
We only run private lessons so you can benefit from the full attention of our friendly surf coaches, whilst spending quality time in the sea with your friends, partner or family.
Beginner to improver lessons
Meeting at South Fistral or Watergate Bay, all equipment provided

Perfect for your first introduction to surfing, experience your first few waves on a foam surfboard. Learn control in the white water, standing up technique and turning on the wave.

Private 1:1 - Undivided attention from our surf coach, the best way to learn for kids and adults. £89
Private 1:2 - Surf lessons for a couple, two friends, parent and child or two children above 6 years old. £119
Private group - Three to six participants per instructor: Get the whole family/group together in the water! £49 per person

Lessons are two hours with a mixture of on land training/practice and in water feedback.

Our experienced surf coaches take pride in recognising the individual. Whether you are a little nervous for your first time in the water, or are someone who throws yourself head first into any new adventure - the lesson will be adapted to suit you.
Intermediate to advanced sessions
Flexible meeting time and location, equipment provided for additional fee

For those up and riding the white water consistently, turning both ways either looking to catch their first green waves or improve their confidence and positioning out back.

Private 1:2 - Improver sessions for a couple, two friends, parent and child or two children above 9 years old. £99 without equipment
Private group - Three to six participants per instructor. Perfect for a group of friends or surf clubs. £32 per person without equipment
Wetsuits and boards can be provided on request, with the option to use a hard board from Hand Laid Eggs.
Equipment rental costs for intermediate to advanced sessions depend on the type of board required, get in touch to chat through what you’d like to get out of the session and we will recommend the best equipment.
